Tri-State at Central Cass

The Central Cass Squirrels welcomed the Tri-State Tigers to Casselton for an ND Class B Region One Girls Volleyball matchup Tuesday night. It was a tight contest, with Central Cass pulling out the four-set victory: 25-15, 23-25, 25-16, 25-19.

The Squirrels trailed briefly in the opening set but led the rest of the set to take an early lead. Tri-State battled back after trailing early in the second set to even things up at one set each. Central Cass came out on fire to start the third, using a 9-1 run to take the early lead, not looking back to take the set. It was a tight fourth set, but the Squirrels prevailed to close out the match in one hour and twenty minutes.

Senior, Braiden Pyle led the Squirrels in kills on senior night with 11. Junior, Avah Cotton also added seven kills and two aces for Central Cass. Senior, Melea Carter led the Tigers with seven kills, three blocks, and two aces.

Both teams are off for the rest of the week. Tri-State will look to bounce back when they host Sargent County on Tuesday. Central Cass will look to keep the winning streak going with a big Cass County rivalry clash with Kindred, also on Tuesday.
