8A-East #7 Red Lake Co Central 3 #10 Win-E-Mac 1 (25-19, 18-25, 25-23, 26-24)

The Red Lake County Central Mustangs advanced in the Section 8A Tournament with a hard fought 3-1 win over Win-E-Mac Monday night in Plummer (25-19, 18-25, 25-23 & 26-24). It looked like a fifth set was coming up as Win-E-Mac had three chances at set point in the fourth set but the Mustangs scored the final five points to win the set and take the match in four. The Mustangs avenged a 3-1 loss to the Patriots at Oklee back on September 6th. The Patriots lost the match despite having 22 service aces in the match compared to fifteen aces at the line for Red Lake County Central. Jamie Flatgard led RLCC with 10 kills as the Mustangs improve their overall record to 6-18. Shawna Majeras had 7 kills and Quinn Graves added 6 kills for the Mustangs. Jaimie Stuhr led Win-E-Mac with 5 kills and Emily Strom added 4 kills for the Patriots as Win-E-Mac ends their season with a record of 2-24. Desting Molstad had six service aces for Win-E-Mac. The Mustangs will play in the second round on Thursday, October 27th when they travel to Ada-Borup-West to take on the Cougars (106.5 FM).
