Highway Improvements Coming to Mayville-Portland

The North Dakota Department of Transportation and Widseth Engineering hosted a public informational meeting in Portland Tuesday. The meeting served as a starting point for an upcoming series of road improvements next summer.

The improvements span just over two miles of Highway 18 from Center Avenue in Mayville to Fargo Avenue in Portland. The list of project upgrades includes an entire reconstruction of Parke Avenue in Portland from Broadway to Grand Forks Avenues. There will also be ADA upgrades, improved drainage, and a mill and overlay of a large section of the bike path spanning the two communities. 

The estimated cost for the entire project is approximately three million dollars. Changes could be made to the project following a round of residential feedback. If you’d like to provide feedback on the proposed project, contact Widseth Engineering by March 27th.
