The Minnesota Department of Economic Development announced that Minnesota had its sixth consecutive month of job growth adding over 2,500 jobs in the private sector and 1,700 jobs in the government sector.

Minnesota’s unemployment rate trickled down to 2.9% in December which remains lower than the national unemployment rate which remained at 3.7% in December.

While the unemployment rate and job growth did improve, Minnesota’s labor force did decrease by 6,590 people over the month, which marks the third straight month of labor force declines.
