Waubun To Keep School Resource Officer

WAUBUN, MN—With many Minnesota cities and/or school districts dropping school resource officers, Mahnomen County Sheriff Josh Guenther met recently with Mahnomen School Superintendent Jeff Bisek and Waubun-Ogema-White Earth Superintendent Jordan Spaeth to talk about the issue.  Spaeth tells R&J News he and his school board agree there are benefits to having a resource officer in schools.

Spaeth also points out that school resource officers do more than simply break up fights; they build relationships with students and provide a positive presence in the school.
