Region 1 Softball Tournament Loser Out – Hankinson Co-Op vs Hillsboro-Central Valley

After their offense staked them to an early lead the Hillsboro/Central Valley Burros’ pitching and defense came through in key moments to defeat the Hankinson Co-Op Pirates 11-0 in the Region 1 Softball Elimination bracket. The Burros scored a pair of runs in the first inning off of Pirate errors and doubled the lead with a Peyton Quam 2-Run Homerun in the second for the early lead. The Pirates threatened with two runners in scoring position with only one out in the second but back to back strikeouts ended the frame without scoring. Overall the Burros found ways to limit the baserunners of the Pirates, only allowing two runs to go as far as third base in the game, while seven Pirate errors allowed the Burros to extend their offensive innings.
