East Polk vs. Red Lake Falls

The Red Lake Falls Eagles held off a late rally by the East Polk North Stars (Fosston/Win-E-Mac) to win 5-3 and advance in the Section 8A Softball Tournament. Layna Schindler had two hits and drove in a run as the Eagles improved their overall record to 20-4. Ava Howard singled and doubled for East Polk as the North Stars end their season at 18-6. Kylie Klipping picked up the win in the circle for Red Lake Falls as she struck out seven batters and walked only one. The North Stars scored two runs in the seventh inning but their rally came up two runs short. The Eagles will next play at Greenbush on Thursday against Badger/Greenbush-Middle River in the championship round. Red Lake Falls will have to defeat B/G-MR twice to win the Section 8A championship.
