Dryburgh Shares Greater Vision for Hillsboro Schools
The Hillsboro Public School Board met in regular session Thursday.
In his report to the board, Superintendent Jon Dryburgh shared that he will be meeting with staff to go over his greater vision for the future of Hillsboro Public Schools. He shares with R & J News the foundations of that vision.
As it relates to ways to specifically help students and staff, Dryburgh shares some of the details on the Be Heard curriculum aimed at improving mental health.
In other discussion and action items, the board reviewed six options for the 2025-2026 school calendars. In those options, Dryburgh included a “float day”. Dryburgh says this is designed to enable flexibility when it comes to postseason sports, specifically state tournaments. The six options will be narrowed down to two following feedback from the district.
The board also approved various staffing contracts and resignations.
