Wake The Lakes Lifehack for the Week: “A Hodgepodge of Lifehacks”
–How to determine if an egg is fresh: Fill a bowl full of water–A very fresh egg will sink to the bottom and lay on its side. Week old eggs will rest on the bottom, but the fat end of the egg will rise up slightly. Three week old eggs will be balanced on the pointy end with the fat end sticking up. Bad eggs will be floating, bobbing along the surface of the water. These floaters should be tossed.
–Increase the efficiency of your bologna sandwich: If you want full bologna coverage in between your bread, take two slices of bologna and cut each one in half with a simple butter knife. Then, take the straight side of each piece of bologna and lay each “half moon” shape lining up with the straight side on each side of the bread (top bottom and left right). FULL BOLOGNA COVERAGE!
–A wet paper towel wrapping around a “root beer” or other fine bottled beverage and putting that in the freezer will cool it down (it claims in this writeup) in TWO minutes. Just don’t forget and leave it in there.
–When reheating your pizza in the microwave, put a small amount of water in a microwave safe container along with your pizza to keep the crust from getting chewy.
–YOU CAN ALSO USE COOKIE CUTTERS TO MAKE DECORATIVELY SHAPED PANCAKES AND EGGS (put cookie cutter shapes in the frying pan, pour batter or freshly cracked egg into your favorite cookie cutter shape and amaze your family and friends).
