Brainerd Man Sentenced
A Brainerd man responsible for the death of one person and the serious injuries of two others in 2021 was sentenced to just over five years in prison. He was also ordered to pay restitution and fees which amounted to just under $2500. Just over two years ago, on August 27, 2021, Kevin Kris Christiansen was involved in a crash with another vehicle. The driver and a passenger of the other vehicle were seriously injured. Another passenger died after being airlifted to a hospital. Christiansen pleaded guilty to one count of felony criminal vehicular homicide for operating a vehicle under the influence. He will need to serve at least 2/3 of his sentence before he can be let out to serve the other third under supervised release. Christianson had a conviction for a DWI in 2015, according to police records.
