Thief River Falls School fills vacant school board position 

The Thief River Falls School Board announced that they have filled the recently vacated school board position that was opened after Kayla Lien resigned after taking the Dean of Students position at Lincoln High School. 

The interviews were conducted on Wednesday night and the six applicants that interviewed for the position were Rene Mooney, Luke Stavos, Jared Kainz, Lindsay Gregory, John Syvertson, and Alicia Brereton. After the interviews the Thief River Falls Board of Education offered John Syvertson the position and he accepted it shortly after. 

Syvertson will serve a one year term that will expire on December 31 2024. Originally nine people had applied for the position but three dropped out before the interview process.
