Ada, MN — The Ada City Council held their first regular monthly meeting on Tuesday night, January 4th at the Council Chambers. At the meeting, Moore Engineering pitched the council a proposal to potentially expedite their 2023 sewer project to this year. The council had originally planned to wait until their existing bond debt came off next year, but Ada Mayor John Hintz says by moving forward now, they may be able to avoid increased costs when newer project guidelines take effect.

The council also received good news in regards to their $600,000 Housing Rehab grant application. Mayor Hintz says they made it past the first round.

The city of Ada has been successful in their last two attempts of applying for the USDA Revolving Loan Fund. With all the money from the program currently loaned out, the council approved this week applying for it again.

And as usual for the beginning of the year, Mayor Hintz will set the annual committee assignments. He notes that he is looking for community volunteers that may be interested in serving on one of the various committees.

Councilmembers Josh Mathsen and Shawn Roux are scheduled to join the KRJB Kaleidoscope Program this Thursday at 9am to further recap this week’s meeting.
