Aitkin County Board approves changes to General Operations Policy, recognizes Law Enforcement employees

(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin County Board of Commissioners meeting from Tuesday, January 25th went into reviewing their LiDAR agreement with the State of Minnesota and rescheduling a public hearing from the Government Center Board Room.

Interim Land Commissioner Dennis Thompson brought to the Board the background for the LiDAR agreement with the State of Minnesota.

The Board approved spending $50,000 of the 2021 Con Con dollars for the acquisition of the 2022 LiDAR Project and for an On, Off, and Sunday Liquor License for 2022 at Round Lake Resort LLC.

 County Administrator Jessica Seibert presented to the Commissioners on approving changes to the General Operations Policy for meal reimbursements. 

The changes including work on the Risk Management and Internal Control policies were approved by Commissioners. The Chronic Wasting Disease/Cervid Farms Public Hearing was also rescheduled for March 8th at 10am. Administrator Seibert also presented a resolution to submit a comprehensive plan to the Rum River Watershed Committee.

Following a break, Aitkin County Sheriff Guida was present for a staff recognition for Investigator Steve Cook and K-9 Officer Loki for their career accomplishments.

The Aitkin County Board of Commissioners will meet again on Tuesday, February 8th at 9am from the Government Center Board Room.
