Aitkin County TZD to move monthly meetings, plans for Initiatives this Spring and Summer

(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin County Toward Zero Deaths Coalition will be adjusting their meeting schedule and have plans for events for this Spring and Summer after meeting on Wednesday, February 9th.

According to the meeting notes, TZD will be moving their monthly meeting to the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 1pm for the next few months to better coordinate schedules with members of law enforcement, media, healthcare professionals, and other members.

TZD is planning on conducting Pedestrian Educational Saturation this Spring with the initial time frame being the week before Memorial Day Weekend to educate both drivers and pedestrians.

TZD Coordinator Amy Dotzler spoke during the meeting and noted that so far 17 deaths have occurred on Minnesota roads compared to 27 in 2021. Preliminarily, 500 deaths occured in 2021.

The Aitkin County TZD coalition will next meet on Wednesday, March 15th at 1pm from the Aitkin Police Department and virtually.
