Aitkin School Board discusses Strategic Plan at January 24th meeting

(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin Public School meeting from Monday, January 24th featured a decision whether to go forward with Strategic Planning and review plan bids from Big River Planning and E&F Services from the High School Media Center.

The Board moved to approve ‘Co-Clerks’ for the high school graduation diplomas with Jeremy Janzen designated as the Clerk authorized to sign documents and Cindi Hills will be the other Clerk.

Superintendent Dan Stifter spoke to the Board on the two bids that were received by the District for their Strategic Plan.

Superintendent Stifter leaned toward the E & F Services plan based on being “more hands” over Big River.

Board member Joe Ryan brought up his thoughts on keeping the Strategic Plan being developed in-house.

Fellow board member Cindi Hills mentioned the Plan should be taken on the School Board itself.

Further into the meeting, Superintendent Stifter mentioned he would withdraw his request on the two bids with the District looking into gathering more information. The Board tabled any further action until their next Work Session meeting.
