Deerwood City Council accepts Ostrowski’s resignation, opens talks on Fee Schedule at Jan. 3rd meeting

(Deerwood, MN) — The Deerwood City Council Monday night began the New Year by accepting the resignation of a Council member and reviewing Organizational Assignments from the Deerwood Auditorium.

Council member Eric Ostrowski turned in his letter of resignation, which was presented at the meeting, and Mayor Michael Aulie highlighted the importance of the Council working together.

Ostrowski’s resignation will be effective July 1st, 2022 with his term ending 2024. The Council held a special election in November to fill the vacant seat.

Mayor Aulie also presented the Organizational Assignments for 2022 with a few additions.

The 2022 Fee Schedule also was opened for review on some adjustments compared to their counterparts.

Pat Radtke from Public Works on the Council on the impending delivery of the blower for snow removal.

From that point after being delivered to Al’s Welding in Aitkin, the needed modifications will be made.

The Council did approve the Gambling Application for Deerwood Civic & Commerce and the Establishment and operation of bank accounts were approved by the Council. 

A reminder was given to the Council that Wednesday, January 26th be another Deerwood Sesquicentennial meeting at 4:30pm from the Auditorium. The Next regular council meeting is on February 7th at 6pm.
