Embrace Winter During Twin Valley SnoMo Days

Twin Valley, MN — Winter fun for everyone is planned over the next couple weeks as part of the annual Twin Valley SnoMo Days. The Twin Valley SnoMo Days is a celebration of winter activities such as snowmobiling, sledding, skating, snow sculpting, and more that dates back to the 1970s when Viking Snowmobiles were manufactured in Twin Valley. It’s not a single group effort, but actually a combination of area community groups such as the Twin Valley Community Boosters, Wild Rice Conservation Club, Moonshiner’s Snowmobile Club, the school, and other volunteers.

The event that commonly kicks of SnoMo Days is this Saturday’s 14^th annual Wild Rice Conservation Club Supper at the Twin Valley Community Center. The event is a big draw, bringing in people from all over the region. Lori Skaurud, Twin Valley Liquor Store Manager and Community Booster member, adds that it’s the ultimate night out for outdoors enthusiasts and raffle lovers.

This Sunday, January 30^th, the Twin Valley Community Boosters welcome everyone to bring their sleds, toboggans, skis, snowboards, and saucers for Sledding at Bueng Hill from 1-4pm, which is perhaps the biggest natural hill in Norman County. Skaurud says it wouldn’t be SnoMo days without sledding. 

Bueng Hill is located on the edge of town, approximately a half mile east of the water tower.

And families, friends, and businesses in the Twin Valley area are all encouraged to participate in the Snow Sculpture Contest for a chance to win $100 in Booster Bucks. Skaurud says you have until 5pm on February 5^th to submit your entries.

Entries can be submitted to the Twin Valley Community Club Facebook page. Other upcoming SnoMo Days activities include Human Bonspiel on February 5^th, Family Skating on February 6^th, and Al’s Vintage Snowmobile Ride and Indoor Fishing Derby on February 12^th.
