The Mahnomen Waubun Thunderbirds built an early lead, and then held off a Clearbrook Gonvick run to come away with the win 89-52.  The Thunderbirds build a 17 point lead in the 1st half, but the Bears would go on a 12-0 run to cut the lead to 5 in which they were able to turn the Thunderbirds over several times in that run.  Mahnomen Waubun would then turn up their defense and would quickly build the lead back to double digits and would lead at the half 40-26.  In the 2nd half Mahnomen Waubun would continue to score on fast breaks and hit shots and would cruise to the win moving their record 13-9 while Clearbrook Gonvick falls to 7-14.
