The Central Cass Squirrels combined for all 15 of their runs in the first and third innings to defeat the Hillsboro/Central Valley Burros 15-4. Hillsboro/Central Valley struck first with back-to-back Homeruns from Carsi Hattlestad (2-Run HR) and Sanna Kritzberger (Solo HR) for a three run lead after their turn at bat in the first inning. The Central Cass bats had their own fireworks in the bottom of the first with eight of their first nine batters to come to the plate all reaching base and scoring, with a Grand Slam from Paige Wixo capping the eight-run inning. The Burros had a pair of two-out hits in the second to get a run back and trail 8-4 while they sent the squirrels down in order in the second inning. The Squirrel bats would not stay off the board much longer as they plated seven runs in the third inning, with a 3-run triple from Sophie Scherweit and a 2-run Home Run from Olivia Haugen being the big blasts in the rally on their way to the 15-4 victory.
