Hillsboro, ND — The Hillsboro School Board held their regular monthly meeting on Thursday morning, February 10th. At the meeting, Superintendent Paula Suda reported that they were going to make up a school day due to the recent snow days. She notes that while they will have enough of the required classroom hours for the state, they need a certain number of days to make good on for union teaching contracts.

Superintendent Suda also reported to the board that Hillsboro Elementary Principal Jon Dryburgh was recently announced as Region Principal of the Year.

Under their Buildings and Grounds committee report, Suda says they are starting to look at some upcoming summer projects and facility updates.

And the Hillsboro School Board got an update on the new therapy dog and how students and staff are reacting.

The school board also set this year’s election schedule to match the Traill County dates. The school board election will be held on June 14th and there will be one at-large seat up for grabs, which is currently held by Tim Kozojed.
