Mahnomen County Holds “Name the Plow” Contest

Mahnomen, MN — Following in the footsteps of the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the Mahnomen County Highway Department held a “Name the Plow” contest for their new snowplow that arrived this fall. Mahnomen County Administrator CJ Holl says they took suggestions from the public and let staff them narrow down and select the new name, which was “Lil Salty.”

Other top suggestions for their Name the Plow contest were Howah Plow, Blizzard Betty, Highway Hero, Blizzard of Oz, New Plow Truck, and Alice Scooper. Look for Lil Salty on the roadways during this week’s snow event and make sure to give it plenty of space.
