‘My Ascension’ documentary to air in Aitkin County with Public Health, CAPS presentations

(Aitkin, MN) — Coming in September, Aitkin County Public Health will be holding special screenings and presentations on ‘My Ascension’, a film to spread hope and fight suicide, throughout Aitkin County with help from the Committee for hte Awareness & Prevention of Suicide (CAPS) program.

Public Health Educator Stacey Durgin Smith checked in with R&J Broadcasting on the film’s background and story from Emma Benoit.

The message of the documentary has also given a second chance to Benoit and help spread suicide prevention.

4 events will be held in total with screenings in Aitkin, McGregor, and Hill City, with panel discussions, conversations, and light dinner after.

`My Ascension’ is free of charge to attend but registration must be done on eventbrite.com or call 218-927-7201 for assistance. 

Dates for ‘My Ascension” are September 12th for Aitkin High School Students, September 13th for hte Aitkin Community at 5:30pm at the The Journey North Church, September 26th for McGregor School Students and Community at 5:30pm at Fireside Inn, and September 27th for Hill City School Students and Community during the day.
