Lake Park, MN — For area vintage and classic snowmobile enthusiasts, this weekend’s Midnite Riders Old Timers Run in Lake Park is an event that gets circled on the calendar every year. Hundreds and hundreds of riders will show off their sleds this Saturday morning at the Lake Park Liquor Store and then take off for a ride of nearly 40 miles that tests both man and machine. It’s also one of the longest running vintage snowmobile events in the region. Midnite Riders President Bill Livdahl says riders love the comradery of getting together with fellow snowmobile enthusiasts as well as the challenge of the ride.

Livdahl says the history of the Old Timers Run began more than 30 years ago as a way to get out and check on wildlife and provide a boost for area businesses.

Registration begins bright and early at 8am this Saturday morning at the Lake Park Liquor Store. Livdahl says they’ll have a brief display and awards before riders can take off on their journey, which includes stops at up to 8 other locations.

The grand prize for this year’s raffle ticket is 2 Outer Reserved We Fest tickets and VIP Parking, plus $500 cash. Gift cards, guns, and TVs make up some of the other prizes on the raffle ticket, which are $10. Trails are reported to be in excellent condition and as long as the weather is nice, Livdahl anticipates an excellent turnout for this weekends Old Timers Run in Lake Park.
