Twin Valley, MN — The Twin Valley City Council held their first regular monthly meeting of the new year on Monday night, January 10th at the Twin Valley Community Center where they took care of the usual beginning of the year business, such as committee assignments, depositories, and fee schedule. Also at the meeting the council approved the hiring of a new police officer, Adam Camp, according to Twin Valley Mayor Ben Fall.

The council also approved a $10,000 loan request for a new gaming and trading card business called the Warped Zone. Mayor Fall says its part of the city’s USDA Revolving Loan Fund aimed at helping new or expanding businesses.

The council approved putting up some street signs to help deter folks from parking on the street during snow events. Fall reminds residents they need to move vehicles off the street during major snow events.

And ice has formed at the skating rink, which is now located on the west side of town at the splash park. Mayor Fall says they are looking to hire a rink attendant to oversee the new warming house.

The Twin Valley City Council also approved their annual auditor contract and BCA Joint Powers Agreement.
