Weird and Wacky Wednesday: “Man Leaves Wife At Rest Stop In Thailand”

(Thailand)  —  A man is in hot water with his wife after leaving her at a rest stop in Thailand.  The 55-year-old man and his wife were driving through the night to the wife’s hometown for the holidays when the husband decided he needed to go to the restroom.  When he pulled over to do so, his wife, who was sleeping in the back, also decided to go to the bathroom.  When the husband was done, he got back in the car and continued driving, not realizing his wife did the same and never made it back into the car. The husband drove another 100 miles, all the while believing his wife was asleep in the back seat — or at least that’s what he says. His abandoned wife, meanwhile, had no phone or money and had to walk 13 miles in the middle of the night to a police station where she sought help. Police tried to call the husband on his phone, but the wife couldn’t remember his number.  Fortunately, once the husband finally realized his wife was not in the backseat, he made a U-turn and raced back to somehow reunite and pick up his wife of 27 years.
