Stampede Elementary Football Camp: Three Days of Grit

Stampede Elementary Football Camp: Three Days of Grit

Earlier this week, multiple future Bronco Football players had taken the field on July 29th & 30th for the Stampede Elementary Camp. Sadly, it was suppose to be a three-day camp but due to the weather day three had to be canceled. But from the sound of it the kids still had lots of fun as I had interviewed Eryn (10), Able (9), and Liam (9) about camp and how it was going.

And did they learn anything new?

What were they taught about “grit”?

Grit don’t quit! I then asked them if they were playing flag football or tacklebar.

As well as what position they play on the field.

And for fun, I asked them how they think the Vikings will do.

Truly a football hot take. So what were they gonna learn, or what were they hoping to learn on day 3?

Some other people in attendance at the Stampede camp were some of the players on the Bronco varsity Football team, who were helping with instructing. They would also have their own practice right after the Stampede camp so I was able to talk to Senior captain Cooper Crandall and Junior captain Kane Thompson about how their summer practices have been.

From a team perspective, what has been the main focuses at these practices?

And then individually?

Of course, as Captains I asked them how they hoped to lead the team.

Then Cooper let us know the team’s key to starting strong on August 30th with their week 1 game.

Speaking of that week 1 game against Ely, the goals for that game were simple.

I then asked from a statistical standpoint what their goals may be.

And finished by asking what’s the one game that the team has their sights on.

Game 1 for the International Falls Broncos Football team is, again August 30th a 6pm and at halftime there will be a naming ceremony to officially dub the football field at Sports Stadium: Stuart Nordquist Field.
