Eileen Todahl appointed to Fertile City Council 

The Fertile City Council made an appointment to a vacant position on the Fertile City Council on Tuesday night during their regular meeting. Fertile City Administrator Lisa Liden explains why an appointment needed to be made, and who the appointee was. 

The City Council also approved to raise their 2024/2025 tax levy by 7%. Liden tells us how they landed on this number. 

Another item on Tuesday’s agenda was a discussion about back pay for Liden on work that she did for Fair Meadow Nursing back in 2023 after much of the staff resigned. After a discussion the council did decide to pay Liden for 392 hours of unpaid work at the nursing home. Liden explains the situation, and clears up some questions that were raised by the public at the meeting. 

Other agenda items included discussion about a new city website, the purchasing of a skid steer for the Fertile Public Works department, and a conditional use permit for the new Smiley’s Rescue Storefront.
