Area Groups Receive Women’s Grants

Nine organizations in Northwest Minnesota have received grants through the Northwest Minnesota Women’s Fund.  The grants, which total $37,500, will go toward projects that support women and girls in the region.

The grant recipients include:

REACH, for a women’s empowerment summit,

Gary Cares, for a women and girls self defense class,

BIO Girls, a regional program that builds self esteem of adolescent girls,

The University of Minnesota-Crookston’s Fiber Guild,

The Firefly Center for Health and Wellbeing in Fosston for the Minnesota History Center’s “Girlhood” exhibit,

The City of Clearbrook for its Life Skills For Girls program,

The Clear Waters Life Center in Clearbrook for Living Local Women,

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Clearwater and Hubbard Counties for Supports of Women,

And the Beltrami County Historical Society for “Empowering Women: Beltrami County’s Journey Toward Equality.”

The Northwest Minnesota Women’s Fund is part of the Northwest Minnesota Foundation.
