Essentia Health vs. Fosston Update

Essentia Health has responded to last month’s decision by the City of Fosston to terminate its contract with Essentia to run the Fosston Hospital.  In a statement released Wednesday, Essentia says the City doesn’t have the authority to terminate that agreement.  The statement goes on to say the only thing the City of Fosston can do is end its own participation in the agreement.  But Essentia Health accepts the City’s decision to remove itself from the agreement.  On November 26th, the City of Fosston decided to end its relationship with Essentia Heath at the end of 2025.  Fosston residents have been unhappy with Essentia after the health care provider decided to end labor and delivery services in Fosston.
