Celebrate Shelly Days & Shelly 125th this Weekend
Shelly, MN — Celebrate Shelly Days and the 125th Anniversary of Shelly this Saturday and Sunday. Many of your favorite small town celebration events are the schedule including a car show, parade, bouncy houses, bingo, food, and street dance, but also several new and unique activities this year as well, such as axe throwing, lawn mower races, water wars, and baked bean contest, according to Julie Cakebread of the Shelly Community Club.
Cakebread says the lawnmower races are sure to grab people’s attention. They will get underway at 12:30pm at the city park and she welcomes people to bring their everyday mowers.
The Baked Bean contest, which runs during the noon hour, should be another big draw, especially since the public will get a chance to sample the goods.
Shelly Days does continue on Sunday as well with a Worship Service in the City Park at 11am and lunch to follow.
Special 125th Anniversary t-shirts will also be available to purchase or order. Email shellycommclub@gmail.com for more information on any of this weekend’s events.
