Hillsboro City Commission News & Notes from September 6th Meeting
Hillsboro, ND — The Hillsboro City Commission held their first regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 6th at the Main Street Community Center. At the meeting, the commission discussed some updates from the Riverwalk Addition. According to Hillsboro City Commission President Levi Reese, the costs have been above what was originally estimated, and they are trying to figure out who is responsible for covering those costs before they make any payments.
The city commission also was informed that there has been some illegal dumping at their city landfill. That illegal dumping could cost the city fines, so President Reese notes they are going to have to do what they can to put a stop to it.
And the city of Hillsboro is moving forward with applying for a green space planning grant with help from their engineers.
And President Reese is advising residents that there are several trees in the community set to be taken down soon. If there is an orange mark on a tree, that means the city will be cutting down, but the property owners won’t be financially responsible for it.
