Detroit Lakes Bans Sale of Marijuana in Public Places 

With the sale and use of marijuana becoming legal in Minnesota on August 1, Detroit Lakes joins a growing list of cities banning the use of marijuana in public spaces. The Detroit Lakes City Council approved the new ordinance banning the sale of Marijuana in Monday’s city council meeting. Establishments and events that are licensed to permit on site consumption are not included in the ban. Becker County is expected to install similar rules soon. Violators of this new ordinance will face a fine of $150.
