City of Hawley sets preliminary budget and pulls school resource officer from school district  

The Hawley City Council met for their first of two September meetings on Monday night. One of the major topics on Monday’s agenda was the preliminary tax levy. Hawley City Administrator Lonnie Neuner recaps what the council agreed on regarding the preliminary tax levy. 

Another major agenda topic was what they are going to do with the School Resource Officer at the Hawley School District in response to the latest legislation that has caused many Minnesota cities to pull officers from schools. Neuner recaps what the council decided to do.
