Aitkin County Soil and Water Conservation District talks Noxious Weeds

(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin County Soil and Water Conservation District brought attention to recent growth and concerns over noxious and invasive weeds in Aitkin County during our monthly conversation.

Sam Seybold mentioned that there are not one but two weeds in Aitkin County.

Managing the spread of the tansies is a continuing battle but can be won long term.

For the Purple Loosestrife, where they pop up within the County can be difficult to deal with regularly.

The damage done by the weeds can be hazardous for the ecosystem and animal and human population.
