(Brainerd, MN) — Since we last spoke to Crow Wing County Veterans Services Officer Erick Flowers, the State of Minnesota passed into law the PACT Act, a bill that would provide expansion of benefits for Gulf War Veterans and Vietnam/Agent Orange veterans.

Flowers did highlight how the Act would impact not only veterans but also their family members.

Case by case approval for expansion of benefits will come off of your medical history after services, especially for those who were affected by Burn Pits.

For Vietnam-era veterans that were exposed to Agent Orange, new conditions were added to the list that would guarantee benefits.

Other presumptive conditions have been linked to Agent Orange exposure based on medical diagnosis.

Much more information concerning the PACT Act and if you, a veteran, can qualify for expanded benefits, contact the Crow Wing County Veterans Services Office call 218-824-1058 or visit their Office on the 1st Floor at 204 Laurel Street in Brainerd Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm.
