Aitkin HOPE, Aitkin County Environmental Services awards grants from Northland Foundation

(NE Minnesota) — The Northland Foundation recently announced that Aitkin County Environmental Services and Aitkin HOPE were one of several organizations that received funding from the Grant Program during the final quarter of 2021.

HOPE, or Healing Opportunity Provided Equally, received $25,000 to provide services and support to survivors of domestic violence from the Foundation’s Individual and Community Wellbeing initiative.

Aitkin County Environmental Services was granted $2,000 to support environmental education programming for Aitkin County sixth graders which came from the Children, Youth and Families section. 

The Northland Foundation awarded two dozen grants to nonprofit organizations, schools, and Native nationals ranging from Chisholm, Duluth, Grand Marais, Grand Rapids, and International Falls.
