ASGA President discusses Farm Bill 

American Sugarbeet Growers Association President Neil Rockstad was a panel member at Ag Fest on Thursday, and he had a discussion on the farm bill that congress has been unable to reach an agreement on. Rockstad explains what the farm bill is, and its importance for area producers. 

Progress on a new farm bill has been slow due to a gridlocked congress, and it being an election year, but organizations like the American Sugarbeet Growers have been hard at work lobbying trying to get it passed. Rockstad gives an update on where things are at with the farm bill, and what producers are lobbying for. 

The US Government  will have till the end of the federal fiscal year to get a farm bill passed. The federal fiscal year ends on Monday, September 30.
