ASGA’s Luther Markwart discusses farm bill priorities 

The United States Agriculture industry has been patiently waiting for a new Farm Bill after talks stalled last year, and their patience may pay off, as there’s hope that a new one will be passed by congress later this year. American Sugarbeet Growers Association Executive Vice President, and CEO Luther Markwart tells us some changes he and the rest of ASGA would like to see in the next Farm Bill. 

Markwart spoke more on the need for a wider safety net, and how it’s something that producers from other ag sectors are asking for as well. 

Lastly Markwart explained what the rest of the Farm Bill consists of, and how farming is only a small fraction of the bill.
