The Holidays are a time of giving and charity, but there are bad actors out there who may be trying to take advantage of your good deeds. Kyle Larson of Frandsen Bank and Trust in Ada says people should be cautious of scammers during the Holiday, and he highlights some of the scams that tend to pop up this time of year.

When it comes to protecting yourself from some scams, Larson says the best thing you can do is to slow down, and do your research on something before you make a purchase, click the link, or hand out your information. He also reminds people if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

When it comes to scams, Larson says there’s a stigma that only the elderly can be scammed, but he says that’s not true and that it can happen to anyone, especially young adults and teens.

Finally, if you believe you are a victim of a scam, Larson walks us through the first couple steps you should take, so that you can minimize or avoid fraudulent activity being done with your identity or accounts.
