Christmas tree maintenance 

A Christmas tradition for many families across the state is the trip to your local Christmas tree farm in order to pick out a real tree for the Christmas season. While there are many benefits in using a real tree for Christmas they also take some work to maintain properly. Up North Tree Farm owner Tony Grieve says that one mistake he sees families make very often is the failure to re-cut the bottom of the trunk. 

Grieve says another mistake many make is underwatering the tree, and explains how much water people should be giving their tree. 

Lastly Greive says that you should also be vigilant of keeping heat sources away from the tree so that you can prevent a number of issues.
