City of Hawley looking to adopt tobacco ordinance

The City of Hawley is looking to implement a tobacco ordinance, and discussions on what it would look like were held during the Hawley City Council meeting on Tuesday night. Hawley City Administrator Lonnie Neuner tells us more. 

Neuner says the reason the council wants to adopt their own ordinance is because of the Clay County Commission voting to ban the sale of flavored tobacco. 

Neuner said the Hawley City Council is also considering the adoption of their own cannabis ordinance as well. 

Finally, Neuner said there will also be multiple street projects going on across town once the weather warms up. 

The Hawley City Council typically meets on the third Monday of the month.
