Twin Valley, MN — It’s not just COVID anymore, illnesses of all kinds are making their rounds at area schools this winter causing schools to reiterate the importance of good hygiene and staying home when you’re sick. During the Norman County East School News this week, K-12 Principal Dustin Flaten says they continue to do lots of testing and monitoring of students, but they’re noticing a trend towards other illnesses recently.

Sarah Kjono of Norman-Mahnomen Public Health says she isn’t surprised to see those illnesses return this winter with mitigation measures such as masking no longer required, but even if its not COVID we still need to protect ourselves and others.

Norman-Mahnomen Public Health is currently offering appointments for 1st, 2nd, and Booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine for anyone age 12 and older. Please contact Sandy at 218-935-2527 or email NMPH@co.norman.mn.us for more information.
