Blackduck at Mahnomen/Waubun

The Mahnomen Waubun Thunderbirds used a 17-0 run in the first half to pull away from the Blackduck Drakes to get the win 58-37.  Mahnomen Waubun’s defense forced Blackduck into 24 turnovers and out

rebounded the Drakes throughout the night.  Blackduck did make a run to cut a 19 point lead to 10 midway through the 2nd half, but the Thunderbirds turned the defense up once again to close out the game and advance to the next round in the Section 8A tournament.  Mahnomen Waubun is now 16-11 while Blackduck ends their season at 14-13 graduating 2 seniors.
