The Pelican Rapids Vikings rebounded from their first loss of the season in their last game to end the Ada-Borup-west Cougar five game winning streak with a 64-61 road victory. The largest separation on the scoreboard with only seven points in this closely fought battle. The Cougars started with an early lead before the Vikings took a 15-11 lead midway through the first half. The Vikings distance shooting allowed them to stay on top of the scoreboard while the Cougars manufactured points by getting to the free throw line for 30-27 Viking halftime lead. In the second half each time the Cougars tied or took a lead, the Vikings found a way to immediately answer on their next offensive possession to retake or maintain their advantage. In the final 10 seconds the Vikings hit a pair of free throws to make it a three point game and then played foul-free defense while limiting the final shot to a last second heave that bounced off the backboard for the Viking win.
