Fire Destroys Hawley Home
HAWLEY, MN—An abandoned house in Hawley burned to the ground early Thursday morning and investigators are looking for the reason why. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says they, along with the Hawley Fire Department and several other agencies were called around 3am Thursday to 231 270th Street North for a report of a home fully engulfed in flames and the roof of the garage had collapsed. Law enforcement says the home has been abandoned for several years and no one was injured. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says they have responded to several calls for trespassing at the home over the years. The State Fire Marshal has been called in to help find the cause of the fire.
