First Robotics building up students one robot at a time 

The 2025/2026 FIRST Robotics Season is now in full swing, and students are doing what they can in promoting the ever growing sport of robotics, and recruiting kids into their local teams. Eric Schaefer is the coach of KAOTIC Robotics out of Frazee, and he’s seen two of his daughters go through the program. In order to promote what being in robotics does to students, Schafer tells us about the growth he saw in his daughters, and the opportunities FIRST offered them. 

There’s a belief with robotics that you have to be a tech person to be a part of a team. Schaefer says that is far from the truth, and he tells us more about the many different roles a person can have on a team.
