Fischbach Bill Passes Hurdle

WASHINGTON, DC—A bill co-sponsored by Minnesota 7th District Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach has passed th House Ways and Means Committee.  The bill, called the Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act, would ensure that pregnancy centers cannot be excluded or restricted from receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, or TANF, funding.  Fischbach says “the Department of Health and Human Services has proposed a rule that could restrict states from using TANF dollars for pregnancy centers and would encourage funding for facilities that provide abortions.”
