Fischbach On Rural Senior Care
Minnesota Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach’s bill to protect nursing homes in rural areas passed the House Ways and Means Committee this week. The bill would fight a rule established last year that would require minimum staffing standards for long-term care facilities. During a speech before the Ways and Means Committee, Fischbach said nursing homes in rural areas can’t meet those staffing requirements.
Fischbach’s bill is supported by over a thousand nursing home leaders and groups such as LeadingAge and the American Health Care Association.
