Gary City Council Meets

The Gary City Council met in regular session on Wednesday, and the council was tasked with figuring out how they want to spend some grant money they recently received. Gary Mayor Buck Engen says the first grant they discussed was for the City Wellness Center. 

Engen says the city also received some grant money for the Gary Pines, and he explains how they plan on using it. 

Lastly Engen gave an update on the demolition of what remains of the Norman County East Elementary School, and what the city is looking to do with the land. 

Other agenda items from Wednesday included the signing of updated fire contracts with area townships, and the approval to send city employees to a rural water training.
