Gun storage and transportation Reminders
The Minnesota and North Dakota deer rifle season is currently underway, and people are once again reminded to make sure they’re doing their part in making the season as safe as possible, especially when it comes to firearms. The hunting season can often make some hunters abandon their usual gun storage practices and not lock up their weapon. This can lead to an increased chance of an accidental shooting when minors are present, and Matt Nikle of the Norman County Sheriff’s office shares some proper gun storage reminders, and things you can do to keep guns out of children’s hands.
The start of hunting season also means that many hunters will be transporting their firearms in their vehicles. Getting pulled over with a weapon in the car can be stressful for the driver, and the police officer making the stop, and many don’t know what to do if they are put in this situation. Norman County Sheriff’s Deputy Brett Fetting tells us what you should do if this happens.
